SM Trades
Accelerated 12-month trade program for youth in the Busia District
About SM Trades:
SM Trades is an accelerated, 12-month program (Carpentry & Tailory) for youth in the Busia District of Uganda, Africa. The 12-months are broken-down into 6 months of classroom learning and 6 months of hands-on application. Our aim is to position youth with an opportunity to attain sustainable skills for the purpose of financial sustainability and practical service to their community. Our instructors are certified in their respected fields - giving students the best opportunity to learn foundational skills in carpentry and tailory. Additionally, we focus on discipleship and character development. Our students go through yearlong discipleship curriculum to learn more about who they are and why they are called to serve.

Education is not free in Uganda. Secondary education is not affordable for most families in the Busia District due to financial hardship. Additionally, some youth do not fair well in classroom settings, whereas other youth need a practical skill for provision as soon as possible. You can practically position a youth to become self-sustainable by providing a scholarship for 20.00 per month or 240.00 per year.
Help furnish SM Trades with tools, machinery, and kits for students. The more resources we attain, the more trades and tools we can offer. We are currently furnished to provide practical training in Carpentry and Tailory for a dozen students. Help us grow in our reach by providing more students with practical skills.
