WE PLANT, PROVIDE, AND POSITION
God's global church is made up of many parts all over the world. These parts range in levels of maturity, socioeconomic-makeup, languages, cultural dynamics, physical resources, governmental oversight, etc. We believe the global body of Christ flourishes when the parts have a healthy interdependence. When one part is in basic need, we are collectively stronger as the Body to fill that need - while simultaneously, not creating dependence. We strive for interdependent partnerships that use God's unique individual and collective equipping to strengthen one another in Christ. Since 2016, we have built an interdependent partnership with Busia-native Christians in the Busia District. Through our partnership we identified specific needs for the local church and community in the Busia District and game-planned to meet those needs. By God's grace, our partnership has forged a landing point called the Son Mission Hub for pastors, orphans, caregivers, and missionaries: Pastors find resources and training; caregivers and orphans find relief, encouragement, and a future rooted in Christ and furthered education; inspiring tradesman find hands-on training; missionaries find immersion and service opportunities; and locals find clean water. From the Hub we launch into our communities to serve in Jesus' name. After four years of partnership, in 2020, these Busia-natives replicated into their own Community-Based Organization (CBO) called Son Mission Busia. When Son Mission speaks of "plant, provide, and position", this is what we mean: long-term, interdependent partnerships for the purpose of making disciples.
WE TEACH GOD'S WORD
The Word became flesh. We treasure the transformative, living power of God’s word, which compels us to extol the name of Jesus to all people. In the Busia District, we positioned Son Mission Busia to teach Biblical curriculum in public and private schools: prayerfully hoping for students to be transformed by Jesus, not just informed with information. We freely disperse Bibles and teach year-long Biblical curriculum so that students have the opportunity to know, follow, and love Jesus Christ - staying planted on His unshakable foundation. We believe God’s Word confronts the heart, which places people in a position to repent of their sins and trust in the finished work of Jesus for salvation. When a student comes to saving faith in Jesus Christ, we continue discipling. Son Mission Busia works directly with local churches in the Busia District: discipling the born-again students throughout the school year and plugging those students - and families - into born-again local churches. Additionally, we disperse Bibles to churches, send pastors to seminary, and equip church leaders to establish small groups that flourish. Our heart is multiplication: making disciples who make disciples - who make disciples.
WE SERVE ORPHANS
God is clear that we must be the voice for the voiceless. There are billions of needs in Africa and all over the world: physical and spiritual. We can’t do everything, but we can start with someone. We saw a specific need for orphans who are nearing the end of middle school but do not have the funds to continue into high school. By God’s grace, Son Mission is giving 24 orphans full-scholarships to attend a Christian boarding school called Howard Christian High School in Busia, Uganda. Education is not free in Uganda, so this has been an opportunity paved by generous supporters. Learn more about the orphans.
